Development of an Operator Terminal

Case Study: Operator Terminal

Task

The particular challenge for our development was to maintain the form factor, as the device will be used with existing systems and must also fulfill all the functions of the previous terminal. At the same time the advantages of the Windows world had to be introduced, especially user-friendly operation.

Operator Terminal

Procedure

Together with our customer we developed a new operator terminal for blister and cartoning machines, which replaces the previous generation of operator terminals. This new operating system was set up based on Windows XP Embedded, which ACD also uses for the vehicle terminals of the MFT series.

Result

As a result, engineers of our customer and ACD have developed a user-friendly and future-proof device.

This development showed once again that our know-how in logistics terminals also provides successful links to other industries (such as machine control).
