experience the new generation of M2Smart® HMI at SPS in Nuremberg

The SPS in Nuremberg marks the grand finale of the trade fair year for ACD Elektronik GmbH. As one of the world’s most important trade fairs for automation technology, it offers comprehensive insight into the entire spectrum of smart and digital automation. This is where innovation, tech-nology, and practice come together. The SPS in Nuremberg is therefore the ideal place to discover the latest developments, make contacts, and experience future trends in the industry up close. One of these trends is the mobile operation of industrial plants.

This is where the M2Smart® HMI system from ACD Elektronik GmbH comes into play. The wireless operating system was specially developed for mobile use in industrial working environments. The latest generation of our mobile M2Smart® HMI10 operating devices impresses with even better performance and a new touch display. At the heart of the performance boost is a powerful Qualcomm processor that sets new standards in terms of computing power, energy efficiency, and stability. Thanks to this modern processor platform, the system responds even more smoothly, processes inputs without delay, and does all this while consuming less energy. In short: more power, more efficiency, more productivity.

In addition, a new and more responsive display has been integrated into the new edition. This impresses above all with increased touch accuracy, improved color and contrast display, and significantly fewer reflections. This ensures that the display remains easy to read even in difficult lighting conditions. Thanks to optimized sensor technology, the device can also be operated accurately while wearing gloves, which is particularly advantageous in industrial environments.

In addition to performance and ease of use, secure data transmission between the machine and the control device plays a particularly important role in mobile and wireless control systems. Especially in industrial environments, where sensitive process data is transmitted, reliable and secure data exchange is a top priority. With the M2Smart® HMI system, safety-related data is transmitted via BT-compatible short-range radio between the M2Smart® HMI and the M2Smart® Gateway. This, in turn, is connected to the machine’s safety PLC, and the radio link between the gateway and the HMI is secured using the black channel method. Non-safety-related data is transmitted directly between the machine to be operated and the operating device. A BT-compatible short-range radio or, alternatively, WiFi is also available for this purpose. If WiFi is used, our M2Smart® HMI Access Point can also be used to establish a stable WiFi connection.

With the M2Smart® HMI system, we have succeeded in transferring the familiar operating concept of smartphones and tablets to the safe control of industrial machines, systems, robots, and even AGVs.
