The special concept behind this series of trade fairs is their regional focus: At various locations in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, it facilitates direct exchange between exhibitors and regionally based companies. With over 400 exhibitors, the aaa in Friedrichshafen is the largest trade fair in the all about automation series and is one of the most important meeting places for the automation industry in southern Germany.
For ACD Elektronik, based in Achstetten in Swabia, south of Ulm and only around 80 kilometers from Friedrichshafen, the all about automation trade fair in Friedrichshafen is a real home game.
With the mobile and wireless M2Smart® HMI system, we are presenting an operating solution at the aaa in Friedrichshafen that has been specially developed for use in industrial environments and is therefore ideally suited to the trade fair’s target audience. The safe and secure HMI system enables flexible and location-independent control of machines, systems, robots, and automated guided vehicles. Thanks to the wireless operating concept, different machines can also be controlled quickly and efficiently with just one control device.
In addition to performance and ease of use, secure data transmission is a key focus for mobile and wireless HMI solutions. Security-related data is transmitted in the ACD Elektronik HMI system via a BT-compatible short-range radio link between the operating device and the M2Smart® Gateway. The Gateway, in turn, is connected to the machine’s security PLC. The radio link is secured using the black channel method. Non-security-relevant data can also be transmitted via BT-compatible short-range radio or WLAN.
This technical foundation creates the conditions for a completely new user experience in industrial practice: Operate a machine or system as easily and flexibly as a smartphone or tablet! This is exactly what the M2Smart® HMI system from ACD Elektronik enables. The intuitive operating concept of modern consumer devices is being transferred to the safe and secure control of machines in industrial working environments. This makes the M2Smart® HMI the employee’s personal device and a central, mobile user interface that can be used to control multiple, even different machines flexibly and efficiently.
