The mobile and wireless HMIs of the M2Smart^® HMI radio series from ACD Elektronik are versatile fulltouch operating devices and are suitable for operating almost any machine and system in an industrial environment. Whether in production for the operation of individual machines within a production line or for the manual control of AGVs: The M2Smart^® HMI radio is always the perfect operating device. The elimination of the cable and the resulting unrestricted mobility, coupled with the modular design, mean that the M2Smart^® HMI radio can be used not just for one machine, but for several different machines. The M2Smart^® Gateway is simply connected to the safety PLC of the machine to be operated, and after a simple pairing via NFC, the M2Smart^® HMI radio is coupled with the machine and ready for use, including the emergency stop and enabling switch mounted on the device. The employee therefore only has one personal device and can use it to control and operate large parts of the machinery.

One issue that is always at the forefront of mobile and wireless applications in an industrial environment is data security. With the mobile HMI system from ACD Elektronik, data is transmitted via two different radio links. The safety relevant data is transmitted between the M2Smart^® Gateway and the M2Smart^® HMI radio via black-channel secured Bluetooth short-range radio. The transmission of non-safety relevant data, for example for operation via browser, web app or app, takes place directly between the machine to be operated and the M2Smart^® HMI radio. A WLAN connection or Bluetooth can be used as the wireless connection. Thanks to the option of using either Bluetooth or WLAN for the transmission of the non-safety relevant data, the M2Smart^® HMI remains as flexible as possible and can be used in almost any working environment. The entire HMI system, consisting of a control unit, emergency stop and enabling switch, gateway and optional access point, can be viewed and even tested at the ACD Elektronik stand at the aaa in Düsseldorf. ACD Elektronik is using a product presenter for this purpose, with which the entire system can be examined in operation.
