Secure, transparent and fit for the future — maximum data security with ACD Elektronik GmbH
In view of the ongoing digitalization and the associated growing risk of cyberattacks targeting sensitive company and employee data, protecting data flows within companies is becoming increasingly important. Since the European Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) came into force on August 1st this year, it has become clear how central the issue of cyber security has become. We at ACD Elektronik have therefore been working intensively for a considerable time on the secure and seamless design of digital processes.
An important step toward ensuring data security when using our products was the development of our own operating system, Android™ Industrial+, in the early 2010s. And what exactly makes this system so secure, both then and now? In our Android™ version, all external services have been removed to ensure that no data is passed on to third parties. In addition, the source code for the operating system is stored on ACD servers in Germany. Our development team continuously monitors the operating system to identify potential security vulnerabilities at an early stage and proactively close them. Through regular updates, new images, and targeted patches, we ensure that our Android™ Industrial+ is always up to date.
To ensure that all our products not only meet the highest security standards but also comply with the requirements of the new EU directive on cyber security, we have conducted a comprehensive review of our entire device portfolio over the past few months. The results were consistently positive, and the high level of data security of all our devices has been confirmed and documented. Only minor adjustments were necessary to ensure full compliance with the device-specific requirements of the EU directive. This means that our products are ideally equipped to meet upcoming requirements for cybersecurity and data protection.
Transparency and partnership are further key components of our strategy to ensure optimal data security. As a manufacturer of mobile solutions, we maintain close and cooperative relationships with our customers. This enables us to identify customer-specific security requirements at an early stage and to implement targeted measures together. We view data security, just like our customer relationships, not as a one-time project, but as an ongoing, continuous process.

With our Android™ Industrial+ operating system and continuous system maintenance, we ensure that our devices always comply with the latest regulatory, technological and security requirements. In this way, we create the basis for stable, traceable and tamper-proof data flows in industrial environments, therefore make a sustainable contribution to strengthening the digital resilience of our customers.
