With the all about automation in Friedrichshafen, the new year starts directly with a first trade fair highlight in February. The all about automation is a regional trade fair series with the following main topics: industrial automation, robotics, control technology, sensor technology and safety & security in automation. The special thing about the trade fair series is the regional concept. The trade fair takes place at various locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, enabling exhibitors to present themselves in a targeted manner in the respective regions and to discuss industry-specific solutions directly with regional companies on site. For companies from southern Germany, a visit of the aaa in Friedrichshafen is particularly worthwhile. With around 400 exhibitors in 2025, the trade fair is becoming increasingly popular. As a company with regional roots and its headquarter in southern Germany, it is a matter of course for us at ACD Elektronik to present our products and solutions at this year’s aaa in Friedrichshafen.

At the ACD Elektronik booth, everything revolves around the mobile, wireless and secure operation of machines, systems, robots and even AGVs. With the M2Smart^® HMI system from ACD Elektronik, it is possible to control large parts of the machine park with just one operating device. In the future, employees will have their own personal device and can connect it easily and simply via NFC tag to the M2Smart^® Gateway connected to the safety PLC of the machine to be operated. Within moments, they can control the machine. They then disconnect from the machine, go to the next system, repeat the pairing process and continue working directly. Simple, fast and efficient!

To ensure data security, the security-relevant data between the M2Smart^® Gateway and the operating device is transmitted via BT-compatible short-range radio secured by black channel technology. For non-safety-related data, for example data for visualization via browser, app or web app, two data transmission options are available. Either via BT-compatible short-range radio or via WiFi. To ensure that the M2Smart^® HMI meets industrial safety and security standards, it is of course equipped with an illuminated emergency stop and a enabling switch.

The entire system, consisting of the M2Smart^® HMI and M2Smart^® Gateway, as well as the simple and fast pairing process, can be viewed and even tested at the ACD Elektronik booth.
