German Innovation Award 2020 for the M2Smart®

After the iF Design Award, ACD Elektronik GmbH also wins the 2020 German Innovation Award for the M2Smart®

ACD Elektronik GmbH is among the prize winners of the world-renowned prize for innovation, the German Innovation Award.

The prize was awarded for the entry “Industrial Handheld Computers Reconceptualized: the Modular M2Smart® Platform” in the category “#W2 Excellence in Business to Business – Information Technologies | Industry Specific and Service Softwares”. The German Innovation Award is awarded once a year by the German Design Council for innovations which advance the industry due to their originality, implementation and effectiveness. ACD Elektronik GmbH beat out over 700 submissions with its entry for the M2Smart® Mobile Handheld Computer.

Industrial Handheld Computers Reconceptualized: the Modular M2Smart®Platform

The innovative M2Smart®, a mobile industrial device with Android™ Industrial+, won over the independent, international jury of experts with its outstanding innovative achievement. The unique feature of the M2Smart® industrial handheld computer is a patented slide mechanism used to attach modules quickly and simply. A wide range of modules including Emergency Stop buttons, keyboards, RFID readers, temperature sensors, scanners, printers and pay modules are easy to attach swiftly and customizable for specific customer needs. This greatly reduces the variety of terminal devices needed in company operations, allowing the user a significant advantage and measurable savings in time and money. ACD Elektronik GmbH previously won the iF Design Award with the M2Smart® in 2020. Together we are proud of the recognition from industry leaders.

German Innovation Award: the prize that highlights innovation

The German Innovation Award recognizes cross-industry products and solutions that differ from previous solutions mainly in their focus on users and added value.
Initiated by the German Parliament and endowed by German Industry, the Design Council advocates for the competitiveness of companies. Since 1953 the competitions have awarded prizes for achievements in design, brands and innovation on an international level.
