Play it safe when it comes to controlling and monitoring industrial machines and systems: The M2Smart® HMI Case is a convenient and secure entry-level solution for the smart control of machines. Common tablets such as the iPad from Apple or tablets from Samsung or Lenovo can be integrated without tools into the case via a quick release fastener. The wired case has an obligatory emergency stop button and a three-stage enabling switch that can be triggered immediately and easily in an emergency. Thanks to the use of commercially available tablets, any operating system can be used. The long-term availability of the HMI Case increases the attractiveness for industry.

Safe machine control with a consumer tablet
ACD Elektronik GmbH is adding a new product to its HMI series: a robust case with emergency stop and enabling functions for safer and flexible operation of machines in the industrial sector. The special device design combines the use of these safety functions in conjunction with commercially available tablets.
In view of the latest developments and technical progress, tablets are increasingly being used for the smart control of machinery. A common consumer tablet in the safety sector – how is that possible? The solution is: M2Smart® HMI Case. The robust case makes it possible to integrate common tablets from manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung or Lenovo easily and without tools. The result is an HMI device with emergency stop button and enabling switch for reliable machine operation and control in safety-critical areas.
Due to its robustness, the M2Smart® HMI Case is ideally suited for industrial environments, plant and machine construction, but also numerous other areas. The device is permanently supplied with power via the connection cable, and the safety data is also transmitted via a direct interface, so that maximum secure data transmission is guaranteed. By using a consumer tablet, any operating system can be used and offers the user the advantage of a familiar user interface.
Customer-specific adaptations for the use of other tablet models, such as Windows tablets, are possible. The case can be optimally adapted to individual requirements by adding accessories such as modules with buttons or joysticks. The case can also be supplemented with further customised features on request.
