M2Smart® HMI10 with associated safety components
The M2Smart® HMI10 represents a major innovation for the area of safe and flexible operation of industrial plants and machines. Where stationary or wired operating systems had to be used so far, the M2Smart® HMI10 with the associated safety components M2Zustimm10 and M2Not-Halt10 offers completely new possibilities. Via a “functionally safe” radio connection, it becomes possible for the first time to meet the requirements of, for example, the Machinery Directive in terms of safety equipment of a machine even with a wireless operating system. Both the emergency stop button, which is obligatory in this environment, and a three-stage enabling button are located directly on the M2Smart® HMI10 and the corresponding signals, packaged in an encrypted “data packet”, are transmitted via Bluetooth to the M2Smart® Gateway, which takes over the transfer of the data to the machine.
Usability is a top priority
To ensure user acceptance, the system was designed to be easy to parameterize. This is achieved with a specially developed app that makes it easy to set important parameters such as range or naming of the M2Smart® Gateway. The pairing process, i.e. the direct, secure connection of a M2Smart® HMI with the M2Smart® Gateway, can also be carried out in just a few seconds. The concept for the entire safety system has been certified by the German TÜV and is suitable for safety levels 3 to Pld. Furthermore, the safety system can be described as an “open system”, i.e. it can be used almost independently of the control hardware and software used.
On the other hand, the modularity known from the M2Smart®, including module change, can still be realized due to the two lateral guide rails. The M2Smart® HMI10 with M2Zustimm10 and M2Not-Halt10 is the first system on the market that transfers the operating philosophy of a consumer tablet to an industrial device with a high safety level. As an open system, the M2Smart® HMI10 can be integrated into all conceivable control architectures for the first time. As a modular, scalable system that can be adapted to specific requirements (enabling switch yes/no, additional operating elements such as buttons, handwheel or joystick), it is unique on the market. The modules can be easily and quickly attached by the user via the two lateral guide rails and securely fixed with screws. Thus, different modules can be mounted to the basic device (depending on the application) and also exchanged (in case of need or repair). This makes the M2Smart® HMI10 particularly service-friendly.
