As an experienced specialist in the development and manufacture of mobile devices, ACD Elektronik is now positioning itself on the market with its brand new M2Smart^® HMI product series in the field of human machine interfaces. Due to its many years of experience in the electronics sector, ACD is familiar with the high demands in the industry with regard to functionality, robustness and customer specifications. This clenched know-how is also reflected in the new HMI series. ACD Elektronik will present the mobile HMI devices for the first time at the automatica from June 21 to 24, 2022 in Munich in hall B6, booth 220.

The novel product series is based on the modular basic device M2Smart^®, which has already won several awards due to its innovative power and modularity. In addition to the obligatory components such as emergency stop and three-stage enabling switch, the products are characterized in particular by the Android™ Industrial+ operating system specially developed by ACD. Thanks to the modern operating system, users benefit from a high level of data security, as there is no data leakage to third parties. At the same time, the operating system offers the advantage of a proven, familiar user interface, which makes operation convenient and simplified for the user. The innovative devices of the HMI series enable companies to meet the high demands on the safety equipment of machines and plants.

The modern HMI operating panels are available as a wired version or a high-end wireless version, as well as with 4.8 and 10 inch displays, and can thus be optimally adapted to individual requirements as well as to the specific area of application. With the M2Smart^® HMI10 Wired, the connection cable ensures absolutely secure transmission of the safety data. In the wireless solution, which is used with the M2Smart^® HMI5 and M2Smart^® HMI10, the corresponding signals are transmitted via Bluetooth to the M2Smart^® Gateway, which takes over the transfer of the data to the PLC. This provides maximum flexibility and unrestricted freedom of movement. With the M2Smart^® HMI Case, a rugged case for the use of common consumer tablets, ACD Elektronik offers users an entry-level solution for safe machine control. Like the other devices in the series, the case is also equipped with a mandatory emergency stop button and enabling switch.

The mobile HMI operating panels impress with maximum safety and a robust design for use in harsh industrial environments. The possibility of customer-specific adaptations offers the decisive advantage compared to HMI devices from other manufacturers: This gives companies the opportunity to obtain a custom-fit solution for their specific application and needs. Further advantages are offered by the long-term availability of hardware and software components as well as service and support.

At automatica in Munich, ACD will not only present a new product, but an entire product family with the goal of improving the safe operation of machines and systems in safety-critical areas.
